Shumaila Khan

About the Author

Shumaila Khan is a novelist, relationship mentor, and emotional intelligence educator with a deep fascination for the human psyche and the invisible forces that shape our choices, relationships, and identities.

Her stories explore the delicate intersection of love, loss, morality, psychology, and the quiet battles we often fight within ourselves. Drawing inspiration from human behavior, history, philosophy, and emotional intelligence, she writes characters that are flawed, deeply human, and impossible to forget.

This Is Where I Die is her debut novel.

About the Author

Born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, Shumaila spent most of her formative years in Makkah and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she completed her schooling at the International Indian School, Jeddah. Growing up between cultures shaped her curiosity about people, beliefs, and the invisible forces that influence the way we think, feel, and connect.

A lifelong learner at heart, she believes every person, every conversation, and every setback has something to teach. When she isn't coaching clients or writing, you'll likely find her immersed in a book, watching a thought-provoking documentary, taking long walks in nature, experimenting in the kitchen, creating art, planning her next journey, or simply enjoying the quiet satisfaction of a freshly cleaned room.

Her intellectual curiosity spans comparative religion, philosophy, psychology, astronomy, history, and geopolitics. Rather than seeing these as separate disciplines, she enjoys exploring where they intersect to better understand human behaviour and the world we live in.

Much of her work has been shaped not by theory alone, but by resilience forged through personal challenges and hard-earned life lessons. As an only child, she naturally developed a keen eye for patterns in human behaviour, learning early on to observe, understand, and connect with people from different walks of life.

Her long-term vision extends beyond relationship coaching. She hopes to develop a practical framework for human flourishing, one built not only on empathy and good intentions but also on fairness, accountability, emotional intelligence, and sustainable growth — a framework that enables individuals, families, organisations, and communities to thrive together.

Some people are fascinated by places. Others by ideas. Shumaila has always been fascinated by people, what shapes them, what heals them, and what quietly transforms the course of a life.

Today, Shumaila lives in Aligarh with her parents and her two loyal canine companions, Biscuit and Bouncer. Whether she's writing, reading, or planning her next project, the two are never far away, happily reminding her that life is just as much about muddy paws, wagging tails, and moments of joy as it is about big ideas.
